Dr. Bozkurt Şener began his medical studies in 1975 at one of Turkey’s most prestigious medical schools, The Istanbul University School of Medicine and chose Opthomology as a specialty in 1981. He completed his residency at Cerrahpasi Hospital while also attending courses in Vitreoretinal surgery at name of institution attended in Dallas. After becoming an Assistant Professor in 1991, Dr. Sener continued as an attending Opthomologist and researcher at Cerrahpasa University until he began his own practice in 1999.
Dr Sener was the first Opthomologist to introduce Laser Myopic surgery in Turkey and is currently the foremost expert in his field. He lectures, teaches and has contributed tremendously to the development of Turkey as a provider of excellent quality eye care and laser surgery. He has applied more than 50.000 laser treatments since 1992.??In the past 18 years, Dr. Sener has performed an estimated 50,000 laser surgeries.
Dr. Sener was elected by his piers as President of the Turkish Ophthalmology Society of Refractive Surgery and holds active membership with the following professional associations.

• The American Academy of Ophthalmology
• The International Society of Refractive Surgery
• The European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery
• The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery

Dr. Sener has been published both locally and internationally on subjects concerning both laser and cataract surgeries, has participated in countless congresses and symposiums and authored a book in 2002 on the treatment of Myopia.
Dr. Sener is currently the Director of the Acibadem Opthamology Center in Istanbul and spends one week a month in Amsterdam at the International Vision Center of which he is the founder.
Dr. Sener has a long history of athletics, beginning with volleyball and is currently an avid and serious golfer. He is also passionately interested in art and possesses a vast collection of both International and Turkish works.
